About Me

Family

I am eighth of eleven children to John and Iona Aldred. I am married to Novelette, a counsellor and psychotherapist. We have three daughters; Marsha, Genelle and Alethea, and a son-in-law Andrew. Marsha and Andrew have given us a grand daughter Krystal

Work

I have two part-time jobs at present. I am Secretary for Minority Ethnic Christian Affairs with Churches Together in England. I am also a presenter on BBC WM with 'The Perfect Saturday Night Conversation' from 8.00-10.00PM every Saturday. In addition to ecumenism and broadcasting my involvement has included Pastor, Executive Director, Chairman, and of course I am a bishop in the Church of God of Prophecy.

Voluntary Work

I have links with many local and national, religious and secular organisations at grass roots and board level.

Media

Hear me every Saturday night on BBC WM 95.6FM or at www.bbc.co.uk/wm. I am a contributor to BBC Radio 2's Pause for Thought, and appear regularly in the press and media commenting on social (mostly religious) and political matters that affect the community in general and the Black and minority ethnic communities in particular. My main areas are in health, education, and community cohesion.

Motto

My personal motto is 'Respect'. This highlights the importance of relationships.
